JMJ Family Health was founded to provide a more personal kind of primary care for the North Idaho community.
As healthcare has become increasingly large and impersonal, our goal is deliberately different: to remain local, accessible and relationship-focused. We want patients to have a primary care home where they are listened to, where recommendations are explained and where care is built around the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all process.

MEET YOUR PROVIDER
Christopher Strain is a Family Nurse Practitioner and the owner of JMJ Family Health.
Chris is a North Idaho native who grew up in Rathdrum. Before entering healthcare, he worked for his father's construction company, an experience that helped shape the practical, hardworking approach he still brings to patient care.
He later spent approximately 12 years in critical-care medicine as an ICU and triage nurse before completing his education as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
That background gave Chris experience caring for people during some of the most serious moments of their lives, while also reinforcing the value of prevention, early intervention and good primary care before a health problem becomes a crisis.
JMJ Family Health combines evidence-based medicine with a strong focus on prevention and the everyday factors that influence health.
Depending on the individual patient, care may include medical treatment, medication, appropriate procedures, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, weight management, mental wellbeing and other lifestyle considerations.
We do not believe every problem has the same solution. The goal is to understand the patient, explain the available options and make thoughtful decisions together.
Being independently owned allows JMJ Family Health to stay focused on the people we serve.
Our aim is not to move patients through as quickly as possible. It is to build an enduring primary-care relationship and provide the kind of local healthcare we would want for our own families.
